Smitka


Denis Smitka has over 20 years of experience, having completed a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design at RMIT in 1985. Initially he was involved in the exhibition and shop fitting industries and then went on to start his own business in parallel with his teaching interests.

Denis established a furniture & light enterprise in 1993 that has since evolved into a successful Architectural Lighting business. He designs, produces and markets products globally and his products have been used extensively in retail, domestic and commercial environments. Noteworthy projects include the 1st class lounges of Hong Kong International Airport, P & O’s Cradle Mountain Resort, the Bayside Lounge at the Sydney Convention Centre, Festival Mushroom’s head office and the Clayton Utz offices in Perth.

Denis has received a number of awards; the most notable of these was an Australian DesignMark for his Poli lighting range.
