Berto Pandolfo was born in Cooma, Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Design in 1988 from the Canberra College of Advanced Education (now University of Canberra). Berto then moved to Sydney where he began working with Sunbeam.

In 1992 Berto was accepted into the Domus Academy, Milan, Italy. After completing his masters Berto was employed by Flos, an internationally recognised lighting company.

In 2002 Berto launched the first of his own self produced designs, the RAK coat stand, under the label (design berto pandolfo).

Berto’s designs have been cited in both local and international design journals and his work has been exhibited in design events both locally and internationally.

Berto’s design interests focus around the aim to investigate how new and emerging technologies can be introduced and ultimately benefit product design and the end user in a non-exclusive manner.
